How long will the Bitcoin Bubble last? Yale Professor Robert Shiller thinks the bubble could linger for 100 years.
“(Bitcoin) might totally collapse and be forgotten and I think that’s a good likely outcome but it could linger on for a good long time, it could be here in 100 years.”
This past Thursday on CNBC, Shiller said that ultimately, he doesn’t know what to make of Bitcoin. Robert Shiller is a Nobel Laureate and professor of economics at Yale. Shiller believes Bitcoin’s value is from its story and, otherwise, it has no value. He is of the belief that the story is what sparked public interest in the digital currency. Shiller has previously compared Bitcoin to Tulip Mania with remarks such as, “…Other things like gold would at least have some value if people didn’t see it as an investment.”
